A tapestry had two sides, one that shows the full glory of the picture that is being woven. The other side, however, is a mess of tangled thread and fraying ends. If you only look at the front side, you might assume the picture was easy to achieve. If you only look at the back side, you would think there is no way this could be considered beautiful. Our lives are but one thread in the madness and mayhem of the tapestry that we call life. We may only see the world from our side; we see the messiness, the heartbreak, the frayed ends and the cords that move in random patterns. We do not see the glory of the image we are crafting on the other side. But God does. He is the artist weaving the threads of his children. To us, it may seem random. But to Heaven, it is a beautiful picture. Our testimonies represent high points and low points in our faith. It is the truth behind our woven thread, something that cannot be tampered with by lies and something that can never be undone. By sharing our stories, we give others hope, and we glorify our creator. We get a glimpse of what it is we might be weaving.
This is my desire for this space. My poetry is my testimony, a window into my heart and my truth. The devotions I write, be they personal or shared by others, serve to share the stories of our faith, to inspire, comfort, encourage, and convict one another. Above it all, it is glory to our God, our creator, our Father, the one who weaves the great Tapestry of life.
